Here is another smashing party dish that people will go crazy for. I promise. It takes a tiny bit of work, but you’re throwing a party and you want to show out! It’s worth it! And after the work is all said and done you will be able to strike the Captain Morgan pose and beam in your awesomeness. Just like I did…only without the pose honestly.
Here’s the recipe!
Turkey Tenderloin Sliders
Prep Time: 20 mins. Cook Time: 1 Hour. Yield: 22
What you’ll need:
- Two Turkey Tenderloins. You can get these from Wal-mart already seasoned!
- Your choice of seasonings. Mesquite, Jerk, Garlic Butter, Regular ole Lowerys.
- Olive Oil
- 2 Pillsbury French Loafs in the tube can.
- 1/2 Cup Raspberry Jam or Preserves
- 1/3 C Spicy Mustard
- Field Greens
- Sliced Provolone Cheese
- 1 egg wash. (1 egg mixed with 1/3 C water)
- Muffin Tin
- Pyrex Dish
Preheat the oven to 350º and spray your muffin tin with cooking spray.
Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and add enough olive oil to coat the bottom of the pan. Season your Tenderloins liberally if you didn’t buy a pre-seasoned one and once the oil is hot, add them to your skillet. Brown on each side for about 5-6 mins.
Meanwhile pop open your french loaf tubes. Add a little bit of flour to a cutting board and place the loaves on top. Using a sharp knife cut the loaves into about 10 or 11 equal slices each. Place each slice into a muffin tin cup. Brush the egg wash mixture over each slice. Bake in oven until they rise and are golden brown on top. I think it’s about 11-13 minutes according to package instructions. Just PAY ATTENTION to these.
After you have finished browning each side of your tenderloins, about 15 minutes, place them into your pyrex dish and into the oven for about an hour. When you are about 45 mins in, poke them with a knife to see if the juices run clear. If so you can take them out then.
When your “buns” are done baking, take them out and let them cool. Once they have cooled down slice them in half to create the top and bottom buns for your sliders.
Now that the buns are done and the Turkey is doing it’s thang in the oven you can relax. Just not so fast. Grab a small mixing bowl and lets start on the sauce. Combine the Raspberry Jam and the Spicy Mustard with a wire whisk. Done! Taste it to see if you like the combination. You may like more Raspberry or more spicy mustard. Play with it.
Now you can relax!
Once the turkey is done, remove from the oven and using tongs, place them on a cutting board. Slice them into thick slices, keeping in mind you have 20-22 buns. Add one slice to each bun bottom. To the top bun smear some of your Raspberry Mustard sauce. Grab your provolone cheese slices and fold into four sections. This will break the cheese into bite-sized pieces that you can top each Tenderloin slice with. Add a pinch of the field greens and you’re sliders are done!
You can add tomatoes, use Pepper Jack cheese or Swiss cheese instead, whatever you like! Enjoy them, your party-goers certainly will!
