When I initially decided that I was going to study abroad in Italy the first city that came to mind was Rome. Of course I had no choice in the matter, so when I saw that OSU had the partnership with Bocconi and that it was in Milan, the next thought I had was Fashion. Milan is an extremely fashionable city. Not in the high-fashion, Haute Couture way (well…actually yes in that way too) but in the fact that everyone here is effortlessly fly. They are confident, own their fashion choices, and they look AMAZING. I was excited to learn that Bocconi doesn’t have the same dress code that Fisher COB does (Business Casual) but there does seem to be an underlying dress code here. It’s just be as fly as you want to be. I love it.
Well the other day I was taking the tram back to the apartment and my roommate decided to walk. As the tram was passing over the canals I noticed there was a lot going on. I saw the runway and as soon as the tram stopped I jumped off. I called Candace on her phone and told her that I wasn’t sure what was going on, but it was SOMETHING and I didn’t want to miss it! Good guess, because as we approached it was very clear that a show was about to happen, and it was absolutely beautiful!
It was the Milano Unica On Stage Fashion show, and we were so excited! Had no idea what was going on, where to sit/stand, or anything, but we actually found really great seats! I even ducked under the barricade and sat in VIP for about 30 minutes until I was politely (I think) kicked out. Still had an amazing view! There were ten designers from all over the world: Carlo Contrada (Italy), Isabela Capeto (Brazil), Vika Gazinskaya (Russia), Bragia (Italy), Rajesh Pratap Singh (India), Christopher Reaburn (UK), Uma Wang (China), Matteo Mollinari, Antonio Azuolo, and Simon Spurr. I had so much fun. It was really exciting, and a fantastic preview of much more to come during fashion week. Below are some pictures and the video of the final walk. I took so much video, but don’t really have the time to upload it all! LOL Watch to the end to see me get all up in Candace’s face.
I love Milano!!!
XXXXX (Kisses.. I’ve learned this too! LOL)
